Australian power-meter designer and manufacturer to provide the US women’s pro team with power measurement devices in further endorsement of InfoCrank’s class-leading accuracy.
Verve Cycling has signed a technical partnership agreement with Team TIBCO-SVB.
Verve will provide team riders with InfoCrank power meter cranksets for their Fuji race bikes, in a further endorsement of Verve Cycling’s world-leading rider development technologies. The partnership will also enable Verve to further refine its innovative power products with input from a professional racing team.
Team TIBCO-SVB is in its 11th consecutive racing season and holds the distinction of being the longest running women’s pro cycling team in North America. 2015 also marks the team’s sixth consecutive year of providing an extensive international racing calendar for its athletes.
Perth, Australia-based Verve Cycling develops and manufactures InfoCrank and other power measurement technologies for cyclists. InfoCrank is widely acknowledged to be the most accurate power meter available, and once set requires no interim recalibrations – a huge benefit for hard-pressed race technicians.
California-based Team TIBCO-SVB’s eleven-strong roster includes athletes from the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Germany, Australia, and Switzerland, who among them hold wins in the Sea Otter Classic, US National Racing Calendar, national championship titles, and multiple Olympic appearances.
The team has already embarked on its 2015 season with a second place overall for Lauren Stephens (USA) in the Tour Femenino de San Luis, Argentina in January, and 8th and 9th places overall for Stephens and Joanne Hogan (Aus) in the five-stage Tour of New Zealand in February. It will field its strongest team for the season-defining Amgen Tour of California, which opens in South Lake, Tahoe on 8 May.
The Team’s mission is ‘to help promising female cyclists pursue their dreams of becoming top international competitors.’ It was founded in 2006 by Linda Jackson, who at age 35 had given up an investment-banking career to become a pro cyclist and went on to compete in the ’96 Olympics, win multiple national championships and a bronze medal at the World Championships.
Commenting on the announcement, Shawn Heidgen, Director of Verve Cycling USA said: “We couldn’t be happier to announce that we’ll be working with North America’s top-ranked women’s team, TIBCO-SVB. At Verve Cycling we believe that our InfoCrank is an indispensable aid to performance development. I am also extremely excited about the opportunity to support Women’s Professional Cycling. Team TIBCO-SVB Founder Linda Jackson added: “As women’s professional cycling continues to show unprecedented growth, it is a tremendous endorsement for Team TIBCO-SVB to have the support of Verve and the InfoCrank brand. Power analytics are now an essential element in optimizing a rider’s potential and our new relationship with Verve presents an amazing opportunity for our athletes to have the best cutting edge technology at their disposal.
